The United States of America announced its rejection of a proposal submitted by Canada within the group of seven to form a specialized team to track down the Russian "Shadow Fleet".
The Russian shadow fleet is a network of oil tankers believed to wrap the Western sanctions imposed on Moscow since 2022.
Washington seeks to tighten its position towards China in the joint statement that will be issued by the Seven countries, while working to reduce the tone in relation to Russia.
He called on the United States to delete the reference to "sanctions" and amend the phrases that blame Moscow in the Ukrainian war.
