An Israeli official said on Friday that the Israeli war government had agreed to allow two fuel trucks daily into Gaza to help meet the needs of the United Nations, according to Reuters.
The official, who requested anonymity, indicated that the decision came after a request from Washington.
He added that allowing the entry of fuel gives Israel additional room to maneuver in the international arena. So that it can continue its campaign to eliminate Hamas in Gaza.
The official said that the amount of fuel will provide “minimal” support to Gaza’s water and sanitation networks to prevent the spread of epidemics.
Before that, the World Health Organization announced, on Friday, that it was extremely concerned about the spread of diseases in the Gaza Strip, where the ongoing Israeli bombing for weeks had caused the population to congregate in shelters with a severe shortage of food and clean water.
The Israeli army continues its military operations in Gaza amid an almost complete loss of communications due to the depletion of fuel, while food supplies have also become “practically non-existent,” according to the United Nations.
