Gargash: Sudan's complaint with international justice against the UAE is a political game of our conflict

UAE adviser Anwar Gargash attacked the Sudanese government to file a complaint against his country with the International Court of Justice, describing the move as an attempt to draw his country to the conflict.
"The ridiculous actions of the Sudanese government led by the armed forces before the International Court of Justice are nothing but a political game and a propaganda trick, which is an attempt to drag a dear friend of Sudan and Africa to the conflict that it brought itself."Gargash pointed out that Sudan's complaint comes after a similar step before the UN Security Council, "I was similarly built on slanders, lies and myths."
He emphasized that the UAE has close relations with Sudan for more than 5 decades, and that the two countries are united by commercial, cultural and deep friendship.
Gargash said that the road is clear if the Sudanese armed forces really sought peace, then they must sit at the negotiating table that was previously extended through the Jeddah Declaration and other initiatives.
He added, "This war can end today if the two parties agree to disengage and accept the repeated offers of dialogue presented by the international community and reliable partners."
The International Court of Justice announced at the end of last March that it would consider a lawsuit filed by Sudan and demanded that emergency measures against the UAE, accusing it of violating its obligations under the agreement to prevent the crime of genocide.
Reuters stated that Sudan accuses the UAE of arming the Rapid Support Forces, a charge that the UAE denies, but United Nations experts and American legislators said that the accusations are credible.
Sudan's complaint to the Court of Justice is related to intense ethnic motivated attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces and militias from Arab tribes allied to them against the non -Arab Masalit tribe in 2023 in West Darfur.
The court said it would consider Sudan's request on April 10.
The issues in which the International Court of Justice takes years to reach a final result, but countries can request the issuance of emergency measures aimed at ensuring that the conflict between countries does not escalate in conjunction with the consideration of the case.
The United Arab Emirates condemned Sudan's complaint before the International Court of Justice, considering that it is a "malicious propaganda trick."
