The Red Cross: The situation in Gaza is "hell on the ground" and hospital supplies are running out

Miriana Spllaric Egger, Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross, described the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as "hell on the ground", warning that supplies in the field hospital of the committee will implement within two weeks. "We now find ourselves in a position that I must describe as hell on the ground ... the residents cannot obtain water, electricity, or food in many regions.
There has been no humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip since Israel prevented the entry of trucks on March 2, at a time when the talks stopped regarding the next stage of the ceasefire agreement that is no longer valid now. Israel resumed its military attack on March 18th.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel claimed that 25 thousand aid truck entered the Gaza Strip in 42 days of the armistice, accusing Hamas of "using aid to rebuild its war machine," which is an accusation that the movement denies.
Spllaric confirmed that the supplies "have declined dangerously."
She added: “For 6 weeks, nothing has entered. Therefore, within two weeks, the supplies we need to keep the hospital’s work.”
For its part, the World Health Organization explained that the antibiotic and blood bags are running out quickly, and Richard Pipirkorn, representative of the organization in the Palestinian territories, said to Journalists in Geneva through video participation from Jerusalem that 22 out of 36 hospitals in the sector are working at a minimum.
The Red Cross President also expressed her concern about the safety of humanitarian operations, and she said: "The movement of the population is very dangerous, but it is especially dangerous for our work."
Last month, the bodies of 15 paramedics and emergency workers were found last month, including 8 of the Palestinian Red Crescent, in a mass grave south of the Gaza Strip.
The United Nations and the Red Crescent accused the Israeli forces of killing them.
The Israeli army said, on Monday, that an initial investigation showed that the incident occurred "due to a feeling of a threat" after it said that it had identified the presence of 6 Hamas elements in the vicinity of the area.
She called for Spllaric to an immediate ceasefire in order to release the rest of the hostages with Hamas, and to deal with the heavy human problems in the sector.
