Jordan announces the ban on the Muslim Brotherhood and confiscating its property

The Jordanian Minister of Interior announced today, Sunday, the Muslim Brotherhood’s ban and considered an illegal association in the Kingdom, in an unprecedented escalating move aimed at ending all the activities of the group inside the country.
The minister emphasized that the government decided to confiscate all the assets and property of the group, and that any activity of it will be in violation of the law and requires legal accountability.
He stressed that the promotion of the group’s ideas or work within any of its facades or arms will be prohibited under the law, noting that the authorities will take measures against any individual or party that proves its involvement in the “criminal” business related to the group.
The Minister of the Interior explained that this step comes within the framework of the state’s keenness to implement the law and preserve national security, stressing that dealing or publishing in the name of the “dissolved Muslim Brotherhood” or any of its entities will be contrary to the orders and instructions issued, and presents the actors to legal prosecution.
