The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that the death toll had risen to 15,899 since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Strip, 70% of whom were children and women.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, Palestinian health spokesman, said that Gaza Strip hospitals are unable to deal with large numbers of wounded, noting that the number of injured has risen to 42,000 wounded, continuing: “We demand the activation of humanitarian law to protect Gaza’s hospitals.”
He added, "We call for the intervention of the United Nations to prevent the health catastrophe in the shelter centers."
The ministry spokesman said, “The occupation completely destroyed 56 health institutions and arrested 35 medical personnel,” calling on the United Nations and the World Health Organization to press for the release of our teams in occupation prisons and to provide safe passage for the entry of medical supplies and fuel and for the exit of the wounded.
On Sunday/Monday night, Israeli forces intensified their air raids and artillery shelling in the northern, central and southern Gaza Strip, while battles continued with Palestinian faction fighters in more than one location.
