The second day of voting in the presidential elections in Egypt began on Monday.
The National Elections Authority confirmed the regular conduct of the voting process in all polling stations during the first day.
The Elections Authority added that the electoral headquarters witnessed a massive and unprecedented turnout of voters in various governorates, and indicated that more members of the judiciary were brought to the subcommittees, to reduce crowding and speed up the pace of voting.
Voting operations take place over 3 days in about 11,000 sub-committees.
With the end of the first day of the presidential elections, yesterday, Sunday, the committees witnessed a turnout from citizens, as the National Elections Authority monitored the votes of 5 million citizens until midday of A total of 67 million people have the right to vote, which is the highest participation since the 2014 elections.
Four candidates are competing for the presidential seat, the first of whom is current President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who is running for a third term, Farid Zahran, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, Abdel-Sanad Yamama, head of the Wafd Party, and Hazem Omar, head of the Republican People’s Party.
These are the fifth presidential elections in Egypt since 2005, and they are held under full judicial supervision and with the participation of 14 international bodies to monitor the conduct of the electoral process.
