The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced, on Thursday, the execution of two of its members on charges of treason.
The Saudi Press Agency, quoting the Ministry of Defense, said that the death sentence was carried out against Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Majid bin Musa and Chief Sergeant Yousef bin Reda Hassan Al-Azouni for committing the crime of national and military treason.
The statement stated, “Both (Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Majid bin Musa Awad Al-Balawi and Chief Sergeant Yousef bin Reda Hassan Al-Azouni), employees of the Ministry of Defense in their military capacity, committed a number of major military felonies, and were arrested on the 25th.” Dhu al-Hijjah 1438 AH and on 24 Dhu al-Hijjah 1438 AH and the investigation with them resulted in his conviction for committing the crime of military treason and his failure to protect the interests of the nation and the honor of military service, while the investigation with the second resulted in his conviction for committing the crimes of treason in its three forms (high, patriotic, and military). And his failure to preserve the interests of the nation and the honor of military service...”
She added: “By referring them to the competent court and providing all judicial guarantees guaranteed to them, they admitted what was attributed to them, and two judgments were issued against them proving their guilt for what was attributed to them, and sentencing them to death in accordance with the legal and legal requirements, and the procedures for reviewing and approving the two judgments were completed, and they were issued.” The royal order to enforce what was decided against them... The death sentence was implemented against the aforementioned people today, Thursday 02/29/1445 AH, under the leadership of the Taif region.”
