The Israeli army also added that 5 other soldiers from the reconnaissance unit of the Givati ​​Brigade were seriously injured in the Gaza battles.

Earlier on Saturday, Hamas announced that it had carried out several attacks on the Israeli army, one of which led to the killing of 5 soldiers in an ambush inside a tunnel in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

A Hamas statement said: “We were able to lure 5 soldiers from the Yahalom unit inside one of the Qassam tunnels east of the city of Khan Yunis.”

She continued: “As soon as they entered the tunnel, it was blown up and they were eliminated from point zero.”
