The head of the Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons in Libya reported on Saturday that 450 bodies had been recovered from the sea over the past two days, indicating that they were 120 meters from the shore.
The World Health Organization indicated that rescue work and the recovery of bodies are still continuing in the Libyan coastal city of Derna.
She added that the bodies of 3,958 people who were killed as a result of the collapse of the Derna dams have been recovered so far, and that their identities have been identified.
It was reported that the collapse of the Derna dams exacerbated the effects of the storm and led to the death of thousands of people and the loss of more than 9,000 others, and led to the displacement of about 35,000 people.
Last Sunday, the “Daniel” storm struck areas in eastern Libya and caused the collapse of two dams in Derna, their waters sweeping away parts of the city along with its buildings and infrastructure.
