The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that 21,978 Palestinians have been killed and 56,697 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
She added that 156 people were killed and 146 others were injured in the past 24 hours, according to what Reuters reported.
The Ministry stated that 70 percent of the dead were women and children.
At the beginning of the new year, Israel launched artillery, air and sea bombardment on various areas of the Gaza Strip, killing dozens, according to Palestinian reports.
The Palestinian Radio said on Monday that Israeli boats bombed the coast west of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, according to the Arab World News Agency.
The radio reported that Israeli artillery also bombed the east of the Bureij and Al-Maghazi camps in the middle of the Gaza Strip, and carried out heavy and continuous bombardment on the vicinity of the areas of Jabalia Al-Balad, Al-Tuffah, and the Jabalia Camp. The Israeli forces also targeted neighborhoods in the center of the city of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Aqsa TV had reported, earlier today, about an Israeli bombing on a house west of the city of Khan Yunis, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.
