Several Western and Arab cities witnessed today (Saturday) massive demonstrations demanding an end to the war on Gaza and in solidarity with the Palestinian people who are being subjected to systematic Israeli genocide.
The pro-Palestine coalition in Britain and a number of countries called for global marches in more than 120 cities in 45 countries around the world, and hundreds went out in marches and a demonstration in the capital, London, to demand an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, an end to the Israeli war on the Strip, the introduction of urgent aid, and holding Israel accountable. For committing crimes in the current war, and according to the British police, the number of demonstrators exceeds 100,000.
Hundreds gathered in the German cities of Munich and Kiel in solidarity with Gaza. According to media sources, the demonstrators occupied Berlin Central Station, but the police arrested a number of demonstrators after beating them.
In the Swedish capital Stockholm and the city of Uppsala, hundreds came out demanding an end to the Israeli war, denouncing the ongoing Israeli massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Thousands gathered in front of the American embassy in Luxembourg to denounce the American administration’s continued support for the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. Thousands also demonstrated in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, to demand an end to the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
The city of The Hague in the Netherlands witnessed large demonstrations, especially before the International Court of Justice, which looks into Israel’s crimes, demanding that Israel be quickly punished for its crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip. Protesters in the French capital, Paris, also organized a protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to denounce Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
Demonstrators went out in the Italian cities of Florence, Sydney, Australia, Konya, Turkey, Seoul, South Korea, and 18 cities in Indonesia and South Africa, in support of Palestine and its people and rejecting the war in Gaza. New York City also witnessed demonstrations denouncing Israel’s crimes in Gaza, and in Morocco, the Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Nation’s Issues organized 113 A demonstration in 56 cities in the Kingdom, in support of Gaza, which has been suffering from war for more than 3 months. The demonstrators chanted the slogan “No to the displacement of Palestinians,” denouncing the continuation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the international silence regarding these crimes.
