Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed, on Tuesday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s readiness to recognize Israel if the Palestinian issue is resolved.
The Saudi Foreign Minister said, before the World Economic Forum in Davos, that the first step to resolving the Palestinian issue is through a ceasefire.
He added: "We agree that regional peace includes peace for Israel, but that can only happen through peace for the Palestinians through a Palestinian state."
In response to a question during a symposium at the World Economic Forum whether, in this context, Saudi Arabia could agree to recognize Israel as part of a broader agreement, the Saudi Foreign Minister said: “Absolutely.”
He added: “We need to focus on the war in Gaza because of its impact on the Palestinians first, and on regional security in general and the dangers it poses to the Palestinians.”
He continued: “So far we have seen nearly 30,000 civilians killed in Gaza, we continue to see civilians killed every day, we continue to see restrictions on access to humanitarian aid... and we see no real sign that the strategic goal is approaching.” Which Israel demands"
