Reuters reported, citing an informed source, as saying that the directors of the Israeli intelligence service (Mossad) and the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) will meet with the Qatari prime minister in Europe at the beginning of the week to discuss a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of the hostages.
p>This comes in an effort to stop the escalation in the Gaza Strip, as the United States, Qatar, and Egypt are pushing Israel and Hamas to announce a phased plan that begins with the release of the hostages, and ultimately leads to the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and an end to the war in Gaza, according to diplomatic sources.
Meanwhile, Hamas said that the movement will abide by any ceasefire decision in Gaza issued by the International Court of Justice on Friday, provided that Israel abides.
Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official, said in a press conference in Beirut that the movement will release all its hostages if Israel releases all Palestinian prisoners.
On the ground, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Thursday, that the death toll in the Israeli military operation in the besieged Strip had risen to 25,900, the majority of whom were women and children, since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7.
The Ministry confirmed that 200 people were killed in the last 24 hours, while 64,110 people were injured since the beginning of the war.
