Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, stated that the Russian mission to the Security Council requested, today, Saturday, an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the US strikes on Syria and Iraq, and the meeting is expected to be held next Tuesday.

The United States of America had targeted more than 85 targets that it said belonged to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces and associated formations in Iraq and Syria, as part of retaliatory strikes for an attack that took place against its military base in Jordan earlier.
