Meta confirmed that it had blocked the accounts of Iranian Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the Facebook and Instagram platforms, amid tense relations between the United States and Iran against the backdrop of the war in Gaza.
A Meta spokesperson told the French Agency: “We removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our policies regarding dangerous organizations and individuals.”
Khamenei had five million followers on Instagram
This social network, similar to Facebook, is banned in Iran, but it remains in use thanks to “virtual private networks” (VPNs).
