The Egyptian Red Crescent confirmed that about 600 humanitarian aid planes for residents of the Gaza Strip have landed at the airport in the city of Al-Arish in Sinai, since the start of the escalation in the Strip.
A statement monitoring the movement of receiving aid aircraft at Al-Arish Airport stated that the total number of aircraft that arrived at Al-Arish Airport since last October 12 was 580 aircraft, including 470 aid aircraft and 110 aircraft transporting delegations.
The aircraft shipments were unloaded, transported on trucks to the logistical warehouses in the city of Al-Arish, and delivered successively to the Gaza Strip in coordination between the Egyptian Red Crescent and its Palestinian counterpart through the Rafah land crossing gate.
Earlier, the director of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, said that Israel imposed financial restrictions on the agency, which prevented the delivery of food to about 1.1 million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, which was devastated by the war.
The restrictions deepened the crisis between Israel and UNRWA, whose operations were threatened after Israeli accusations that some of its workers participated in the October 7 attack. The accusations led to the majority of donor countries suspending their funding to the agency.
