A recent Israeli opinion poll revealed that the majority of the public in Israel believes it is necessary for Israel to expand the military operation to Palestinian Rafah at the expense of the confrontation with Egypt and the United States.
According to a special poll published on the Israeli news site now14, “Do you support the continuation of the Israeli army’s operations in Rafah?”, 73% of the total participants support the continuation of the operation at any price, compared to only 23% who oppose that, and 4% who answered that they do not have Position on the topic.
Among the supporters of the government coalition, there was an absolute majority that supported the continuation of the Rafah operation, at a rate of 91%, compared to 7% that opposed it. It also turned out that even among supporters of the opposition, there was a majority that supported the continuation of the maneuver, at a rate of 54%, compared to 41% opposition.
While Israeli TV Channel 12, "N12", said that it is possible that Israeli military action in Rafah could endanger relations with Egypt.
The Hebrew channel explained that the plan to destroy the remaining Hamas brigades and evacuate the population from there, to control the Philadelphia axis, could pose a very big challenge to the fragile relations between the two countries.
Egypt had announced that if Israel attacked Rafah, it would suspend the peace agreement between the two countries.
