Ayman Al-Safadi, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, confirmed that Israel is still preventing sufficient aid from entering the Gaza Strip.
Safadi added, during Jordan’s speech at the joint ministerial meeting between the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Riyadh today, that “everyone faces the greatest challenge in the region, which is the continuation of the brutal Israeli aggression against Gaza.”
He continued: “We are all working to stop this aggression and to deliver sufficient humanitarian aid to more than 2.3 million Palestinians facing famine, according to estimates by UN organizations and others, and Israel is still preventing sufficient aid from entering it.”
He stressed that the Palestinian issue is “the central issue of all of us, and we will spare no effort in working to end this aggression and to do everything necessary to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace, which will not be achieved unless the Palestinians obtain all their legitimate rights, first and foremost their right to a state and freedom.” On their national territory, along the lines of June 4, 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.”
He called on the international community to take effective action not only to stop the aggression against Gaza and stop the “illegitimate” measures that Israel continues to carry out in the occupied West Bank, and to prevent worshipers from practicing their religious rituals at the gates of the holy month of Ramadan.
Safadi added: “I look forward to working with all of you not only to develop our bilateral relations, but also to end this aggression and find a real horizon for achieving a just and comprehensive peace, as our region will not enjoy stability as long as the occupation continues and this conflict is open.”
