AFAD reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was near the village of Yenigi and struck at approximately 21:38 Moscow time, and its epicenter was at a depth of about 10 km.
In turn, seismologists at the Kandilli Observatory reported that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of more than 14 km.
Residents of the European part of Istanbul felt mild tremors from the earthquake, while Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that no damage or casualties had been reported so far.
