The Iranian news agency "IRNA" reported that the Legal Court for International Relations in Tehran issued a judicial order to confiscate and seize an American oil shipment valued at $50 million, which was on board the ship (Advantage Sweet) in the Persian Gulf.
According to the agency, this decision came in response to the sanctions imposed by Western countries, especially the United States, on Iran, which negatively affected Butterfly (EB) patients, who were unable to purchase the necessary medications for them from a Swedish company, causing them Serious physical and mental harm.
The agency added that the butterfly patients filed a lawsuit against the United States in the Legal Court for International Relations in Tehran, and after the necessary investigations, the court ruled to confiscate the American oil shipment and seize the ship carrying the flag of the Marshall Islands.
In a related context, the US Fifth Fleet confirmed in a statement that the Iranian Navy detained the oil ship (Advantage Suite) while it was crossing international waters in the Gulf of Oman, on April 27, 2023. The Iranian fleet demanded the immediate release of the ship, considering that Iranian harassment of ships constitutes a violation of navigation rights and a threat to maritime security and the global economy.
