The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said on Sunday that the movement had set “controls” during negotiations to reach a deal with Israel, including ending the war and “cutting off the plan” for the day after the war in the Gaza Strip. .
According to the Arab World News Agency, Haniyeh added, in a speech broadcast on television, that the movement’s “principles” for agreeing on the deal also include a comprehensive ceasefire, Israel’s complete withdrawal, and the return of the displaced, stressing that the movement showed “extensive flexibility” in All sessions and dialogues related to the negotiations.
Haniyeh said that Israel is “evading clear guarantees, especially regarding the ceasefire,” noting that in contact with the mediators in the negotiations, during the past hours, he had not received “any commitment” from Israel regarding the ceasefire.
p>He continued: “Israel is talking about redeployment and repositioning of the army in Gaza, not about withdrawal,” adding that Israel “confirms in the negotiations that it will remain on an axis that divides the Gaza Strip into two halves.”
Haniyeh held Israel responsible for not reaching an agreement, stressing that the movement is open to “continuing negotiations or any formulas that end this war on Gaza,” stressing that the movement “absolutely does not want” to sign an agreement that does not end the war on Gaza.
