Bloomberg reported, citing senior officials in India, that the Indian Navy will receive two Russian-made warships in the next few months despite the sanctions imposed by Western countries.
Bloomberg explained that “the deal included four ships, the class of which was not determined, and India is likely to receive the first ship in September 2024, and the second in 2025.”
It is noteworthy that Russia and India concluded a deal to produce and supply four Russian-made warships to the Indian forces in 2018, and despite Western sanctions, the agreement is still in effect, and India will receive the promised ships.
The Russian ambassador to New Delhi, Denis Alipov, confirmed earlier that the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Moscow will not affect the course of economic cooperation between Russia and India in the future.
