Hamas announced on Sunday the end of the current round of negotiations in Cairo regarding the truce in the Gaza Strip.
"Hamas delivered its response"
She said that the movement’s delegation will leave Cairo tonight to consult with the leaders, adding that the delegation delivered the response to the mediators in Egypt and Qatar, where in-depth and serious discussions took place with them.
Hamas affirmed its positive and responsible approach to reaching an agreement that meets the demands of the Palestinian people, ends the war completely, and achieves withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip, calling for the return of the displaced, intensifying relief, beginning reconstruction, and completing the prisoner exchange deal.
"Qatar and America are exerting maximum pressure"
Meanwhile, an official confirmed to Reuters that Qatar and America are exerting maximum pressure on Israel and Hamas to continue negotiations.
Reuters also reported that the US intelligence director’s visit to Qatar comes in light of “the Gaza talks on the verge of collapse.”
"Proceeding positively"
A high-level Egyptian source confirmed that the truce negotiations in the Gaza Strip are progressing positively and there is progress in them.
He said on Sunday that among the terms of the agreement is the return of displaced people from the south of the Gaza Strip to the north, indicating that what is published about the terms of the agreement in some media outlets is inaccurate.
The Egyptian source confirmed that the Egyptian security delegation is continuing its consultations with all parties.
It is noteworthy that a Hamas delegation had arrived in Cairo a few days ago to discuss the details of a new ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
"No delegations before Hamas responds"
While Israel announced that it will not send a delegation to the negotiations, until the movement responds to the Egyptian proposal regarding the upcoming truce.
Mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar and the United States are continuing, seeking to reach a truce and release Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
