Hamas announced its approval of the Egyptian-Qatari proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the movement.
The movement said in a statement that Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, made a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, and informed them of Hamas’ approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement on Monday. .
The movement explained, “With the positive spirit in which the movement’s leadership responded when it studied the ceasefire proposal that it recently received, it is going to Cairo in this same spirit to reach an agreement.”
The Hamas movement added that in light of recent contacts with the mediator brothers in Egypt and Qatar, tomorrow, Saturday, the Hamas delegation will head to Cairo to complete the discussions
The statement said, “Hamas and the Palestinian resistance forces are determined to mature the agreement, in a way that achieves the demands of our people for a complete cessation of aggression, the withdrawal of the occupation forces, the return of the displaced, relief for our people, the start of reconstruction, and the completion of a serious exchange deal.”
