The death toll of Palestinians in Gaza rose on Sunday, on the second day of the escalation with Israel, to 413 people, according to what the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Strip announced.
The ministry said in a brief statement that the death toll in the Gaza Strip had risen to “370 citizens and 1,990 were injured with varying injuries,” while the Ministry of Health in Ramallah confirmed that among the dead were “20 children,” according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse.
This comes after an operation launched by Palestinian factions from the Gaza Strip in the Gaza envelope area, which resulted in the killing of 600 Israelis and the injury of more than 1,800 others.
Al-Aqsa TV said today that Israeli aircraft bombed a tower in central Gaza and completely destroyed it. The television added through its Telegram account that the tower bears the name “Watan” and did not provide further details.
Israeli aircraft also bombed a nine-story residential building in the center of Gaza City, completely destroying it as part of the escalation that followed an attack launched by the Hamas movement on southern and central Israel yesterday, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds. Footage showed smoke billowing from the tower, which was leveled. Hamas and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip launched a surprise attack on Israel, which included firing thousands of rockets at cities in the south and center. Armed men also stormed Israeli towns and settlements adjacent to the Strip.
Israeli aircraft responded with a series of violent raids on the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding hundreds. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the number of Israeli deaths in operations carried out by Hamas had risen to 300 people.
The Israeli Ministry of Health announced that the number of wounded had risen to 1,590, including about 300 in serious condition
