The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “With this important step, these countries demonstrated their firm commitment to the two-state solution,” and the Foreign Ministry called on “all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to move forward with that, as a step towards ending the historical injustice to which the Palestinian people are exposed.” .
For its part, the Hamas movement welcomed the announcement by Norway, Ireland, and Spain to recognize the State of Palestine, considering it “an important step to confirm our right to our land,” and Hamas called on “countries to recognize our national rights and support the struggle of our Palestinian people for liberation, independence, and ending the occupation.”

As for the Secretary-General of the Arab Community, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, he welcomed “the important step that Norway, Ireland and Spain decided to take,” and said: “I salute and thank the three countries for that step that puts them on the right side of history in this conflict, and I call on the countries Those who did not do so should follow the steps of the three countries.”
In turn, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that it was “a very important step in restoring the usurped rights of the occupied Palestinian people, and helping Palestine obtain the status it deserves in the international community,” stressing that it “will continue to strive for more countries to recognize Palestine.”
For its part, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed the Kingdom’s welcome of the positive decision taken by Norway, Spain, and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine.
It appreciated this decision, which confirms the international consensus on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and called on the rest of the countries to quickly take the same decision, which would contribute to finding a reliable path that achieves a just and lasting peace.
The Kingdom affirmed its call to the international community - and in particular - the permanent members of the Security Council on the importance of accelerating the recognition of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, so that the Palestinian people can achieve their rights and achieve comprehensive and just peace.
As for Jordan, it welcomed the decision of Norway, Spain and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine, considering it “an important and essential step towards a two-state solution.”
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi said, “We value this decision, and consider it an important and fundamental step on the path to the two-state solution, which embodies an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967.”
In turn, the Republic of Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the decision of the three European countries, saying that it is “an appreciated step that supports international efforts aimed at creating a political horizon that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
It called on countries that have not yet taken this step to “move forward towards recognizing the State of Palestine, in order to uphold the values of justice and equity, and to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people who have suffered from the Israeli occupation for more than seven decades, and to enable them to establish their independent state.”
With Norway, Ireland and Spain announcing today, Wednesday, the recognition of the State of Palestine, the number of European Union member states recognizing Palestine rises to 12 out of 27 countries.
