The military wing of Hamas announced on Thursday the fate of the commander of the Southern Brigade of the Israeli army’s Gaza Division, who was believed to have been killed in the October 7 attack.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said that it has been detaining the Israeli officer, Assaf Hamami, since the October 7 attack on southern Israel, noting that he was injured during his detention.
The Al-Qassam Brigades did not provide any evidence of this.
A few months ago, the Israeli army announced that Hamami (41 years old) was killed in the October 7 attacks, and that his body was being held in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas announced more than once that some of the hostages it held were killed in Israel’s bombing of the Gaza Strip, which has been continuing for more than 7 months.
