The Israeli army and its emergency services said that a man in his 20s was killed and another, 33, was wounded, after gunmen opened fire on them from a passing car.
The Israeli army said that the incident occurred in the northern end of the West Bank, near the Jordan Valley, and that it is treating it as a terrorist attack.
The Israeli army added in a statement on Sunday: “The terrorists opened fire from a passing car on a number of vehicles in the area. As a result of the attack, an Israeli civilian was killed, and another Israeli civilian was injured and is currently receiving treatment from medical teams.”
The statement added: “IDF soldiers began pursuing the terrorists, closing roads, and conducting comprehensive searches in the area.”
