The Public Funds Prosecution in Shabwa Governorate, in cooperation and coordination with the Central Bank branch in the governorate, and the General Administration of Security and Police, launched an inspection campaign and closed money exchange shops that violate the law, in implementation of the directives of the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa.
In the campaign in which the Deputy Public Funds Prosecutor in the Governorate, Judge Saleh Lamlas, the Director General of the Central Bank Branch, Saleh Fadaq, and the Deputy Director of Security of the Governorate, Brigadier General Ahmed Lahoul, participated, a number of money exchange shops were closed in the city of Ataq, which had not been It has the necessary licenses to practice the activity, or whose licenses have expired, in addition to those that refuse to accept some denominations of the national currency or impose high commissions on transactions.
The director of the Central Bank branch in the governorate, Saleh Fadaq, praised the response of all concerned parties and their interaction with the presidential, governmental and judicial directives to implement the campaign.
Fadak pointed out the importance of the campaign in protecting the national currency and saving it from collapse, warning of the danger of ignoring the money exchange and money laundering law, which contributes to creating a suitable environment for currency speculation markets and causes it to lose its purchasing value.
Fadak also stressed the continuation of the campaign in the governorate center and all its directorates, and not allowing the opening of any exchange shops that violate the law, pointing to the start of procedures for opening judicial files against violators in implementation of the law and in application of the bank’s monetary policy, which aims to impose strict control on the financial markets.
