The Central Bank of Yemen welcomes the transfer of bank centers to Aden and confirms its willingness to provide support and protection

The Central Bank of Yemen in the capital, Aden, announced that it had received a written communication from the majority of banks based in Sana'a, stating its decision to transfer its centers and its business to Aden, in order to avoid the strict sanctions imposed by the United States of America after the start of the implementation of the Houthi militia.
The Central Bank welcomed this step, confirming its full readiness to provide all forms of support and protection necessary for banks and financial and economic institutions to ensure the continued provision of services to citizens inside and outside Yemen. He also stressed his commitment to follow up the implementation of transportation operations, ensure their completion, and to issue official certificates to prove this.
The Central Bank of Yemen affirmed its openness to cooperation with international and regional financial and relief institutions, in a manner that ensures the stability of the banking system in Yemen and enables these institutions to carry out their business without any obstacles.
The Central Bank called on all banks and financial institutions to deal with developments with a national responsibility, ensuring the preservation of citizens ’property and the continuation of banking services, and avoiding any consequences that may hold transactions with the local and international financial and banking system.
The Central Bank pointed to its awareness of the sensitivity of the current situation, stressing its commitment to its legal and professional responsibilities to reduce any repercussions that may affect the national economy and the banking sector.
He also warned of the dangers of indulgence with these developments, stressing the need to adhere to the internationally applicable laws and banking rules to protect the national economy from any possible negative impacts.
