Today, the World Money Week event in Yemen was launched in the capital, Aden, under the slogan “Protect your money, secure your future,” in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, his deputy, Dr. Muhammad Banaja, and a number of ministers and representatives of banks and banks.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, gave a speech during the inauguration in which he emphasized the importance of financial and banking culture in developing and managing the self-resources of children and youth, noting that the Central Bank seeks to achieve financial inclusion in Yemen, by providing financial services. The governor praised the progress achieved in the recent period, as there are 10 operating banks and 4 banks under establishment specializing in small and microfinance. Pointing out that some of these banks have already begun to transform into comprehensive Islamic banks.
He pointed out that the Central Bank has developed and updated the regulatory rules for providing electronic money services via mobile phone, as this step represents a major shift in the success of the process of digitizing salaries and disbursing them through banks, calling for the necessity of including financial culture in education curricula from the early stages, And make it a living and recurring subject in all media, culture, awareness and guidance programmes.
For his part, the Minister of Finance, Salem Bin Brik, in a speech he delivered during the event, praised the efforts of the Central Bank of Yemen in reactivating vital programs in the capital, Aden, opening the doors of interaction and transferring experiences and visions between the Central Bank and financial institutions, and setting visions and striving to realize them by raising awareness. For his part, Mohammed Al-Shaabi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for World Money Week activities, stressed the importance of the event in enhancing financial awareness among various segments of society, especially the generation of children and youth.

For her part, Wazna Bousbaei, in the speech of the representatives of the banks participating in the event, called on the relevant authorities in the country to include financial culture as an essential part of the educational stages to help children manage their savings properly.
