The United States, on Thursday, condemned the Houthi armed group issuing counterfeit currencies instead of the official Yemeni currency.
The US Embassy in Yemen said that its country condemns the issuance of counterfeit currencies by the Houthis - classified internationally as a terrorist group - instead of the official Yemeni currency.
She added that it is necessary to prevent counterfeit currency from entering the market.
She stressed that the Houthis’ actions threaten to further divide the Yemeni economy and undermine the integrity of the banking sector inside Yemen
