The European delegation expresses its understanding of the Central Bank's actions

The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, met this Wednesday morning, in the Central Bank building in the capital, Aden, with the European Union delegation to Yemen, which included the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Gabriel Vinales, his deputy, Sarah Sadiq, and the ambassadors of France, Catherine Cammon, and the Netherlands, Janet Sibien. And Germany, Dr. Hubert Jäger.
During the meeting, the governor reviewed the overall economic developments in their most important financial and monetary aspects, and the prospects for their future developments in light of the existing conditions and current events, especially the recent decisions of the Central Bank to save the Yemeni banking sector from the ongoing violations of the Houthi militias, especially after it was classified as a terrorist group, and its violation of all laws and standards. Banking, which governs the work of banks, which harms the work of banks and their financial relations with the surroundings and the world.
For their part, the ambassadors expressed their understanding of the actions of the Central Bank, and stressed the continued support provided by the countries of the Union to the Republic of Yemen in humanitarian aspects and the support of the Central Bank in the field of capacity building, upgrading systems, and assisting it in promoting financial inclusion and strengthening systems to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
The meeting was attended by a number of Central Bank agents and relevant officials.
