The people of Wadi Taban areas in Al-Musaimeer District, Lahj Governorate, are living in a tragic situation after torrential floods flooded the only road linking them to the district’s capital. These citizens found themselves trapped between the rugged rocky mountains, bravely trying to search for an alternative way out of the isolation they have been living in for about half a month. But these attempts were not without risks; Every trip turned into a dangerous adventure, as cars overturned, rocks fell, and some people fell victim to the harsh conditions.
In a painful accident, Sheikh Radwan Abdullah Ahmed Al Quraidi's car overturned today on the rugged mountain road, turning his journey back home into a real nightmare. This is the bitter reality faced by the residents of Wadi Tiban and the surrounding areas in Al-Azariq District in Al-Dhalea Governorate, where torrents washed away the main road extending along the Wadi Tiban strip, and the floods have been continuing for half a month, further aggravating the situation.
Cars getting stuck in Wadi Tuban have become a common sight, with agricultural lands affected and the crops on which residents depend for their livelihood destroyed. These harsh conditions prevented patients from reaching hospitals for medical care, and prevented families from meeting their basic needs. The movement of students also stopped reaching their schools, which added to the challenges facing the population.
The people of Wadi Tuban appeal to the local authorities, relief organizations, the Roads and Bridges Fund, and everyone who can provide assistance, to consider their suffering and work to repair the road, which is their only lifeline. They hope that their voices will reach those concerned so that they can assume their responsibilities towards citizens who are struggling to survive amid these difficult circumstances.
