For the third day in a row, the drivers of locomotives transporting gas from Marib to Aden continued their open sit-in at the Hassan point in Abyan governorate, and their refusal to enter Aden due to the continued levies and improvement amounts imposed on them at security points in the Shabwa and Abyan governorates, despite recent directives prohibiting their collection.
The drivers of those locomotives stated that they are still suffering from the levies imposed on them, which amount to large amounts that they cost to pay out of their pockets without a legal form, stressing that their sit-in at the Hassan point will continue until those levies are canceled or those amounts are borne by the owners of the stations that supply them with gas. We call at the same time to implement the directives of Commander Abdul Rahman Al-Muharami Abu Zaraa to the governors of the liberated governorates, the commanders of the military units, the general directors of police in the liberated governorates, and the leadership of the Security Belt forces, to prevent the collection of any illegal levies at all security and military points spread along the lines and entrances to the cities.
The gas locomotive drivers indicated that they had previously launched a comprehensive strike within the Safer Company in Marib Governorate for the amounts of improvements that are paid to the points under the name (improvement), which are often paid by the drivers. During their strike, they demanded that these amounts be borne by the owners of the gas stations, such as merchants. goods, as a result of which Safer Company intervened and asked them for a week to issue a circular to the station owners to bear the costs of the improvement amounts.
