The capital, Aden, witnessed a noticeable spread of fevers a few days after the rains, as the water collected in some streets created a suitable environment for the breeding of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
Local sources reported that the concerned authorities were late in draining rainwater from the streets, as some of this water remained until the second week after the rain, which led to it mixing with sewage water. This situation contributed to the spread of diseases, as many citizens contracted fevers as a result of this pollution.
Specialists have warned of the dangers of the spread of diseases resulting from mosquito breeding, calling on local authorities to take urgent measures to suck out stagnant water and clean the streets.
This spread comes at a time when the city is suffering from weak health services, which further worsens the health conditions of citizens under the current circumstances.
