Five girls died after falling into a sewage pond in the coastal district of Dhubab, west of Taiz Governorate.
A local source said that Dhubab District witnessed an unfortunate accident during a wedding ceremony, where 17 girls fell into one of the wells near the wedding site, which led to the death of five of them and the injury of two girls in serious condition.
He added that the injured were transferred to Dhubab Hospital, which was unable to provide the necessary health care due to the lack of oxygen and basic medicines, which led to a large number of young people and the people of Dhubab gathering in front of the hospital.
The source said that the people closed the hospital and expelled the employees and the hospital director, demanding his departure in protest against what they described as mismanagement and corruption, noting that the hospital lacks the most basic medical supplies.
