The Anti-Narcotics Department of the Security Belt Forces in the General Command, on Sunday, deported eight defendants accused of drug and hashish trafficking cases to the central prison in the capital, Aden, based on the prosecution’s directives.

Lieutenant Colonel Mayas Haidara, Director of the General Department of Narcotics Control, confirmed that the Department deported the accused after completing their legal files, explaining that these procedures were carried out under the directives of the Criminal Prosecution, as all the files of the accused were handed over, including the arrest and investigation reports.

Colonel Mayas also appreciated the efforts made by the judicial bodies, especially the Criminal Court, and the effective and decisive role it plays against important cases, especially drug trafficking cases.

He also pointed out that recently, many rulings have been issued by the Criminal Court against drug pushers and dealers, to serve as an example for other pushers who continue to sell drugs among young men and women.

At the end of his statement, Lieutenant Colonel Mayas confirmed that they will continue to pursue drug dealers and dealers wherever they are, until all forms of drug and cannabis promotion and use are eliminated.
