Israel announces the interception of two missiles launched from Yemen

Late Monday night, the Israeli occupation army intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen. The Israeli occupation army said that sirens sounded in several areas of central Israel following the launch of a missile from Yemen, before indicating in a second statement that the missile was intercepted before it entered Israeli airspace.
The Israeli police also stated in a statement that they are conducting combing operations to search for possible fall sites, calling on Israelis to avoid approaching the fall sites or touching the remnants of rockets, and to stay near shelters. While Israeli Channel 12 said that air traffic stopped at Ben Gurion Airport after the missile was launched from Yemen, noting that the planes that were supposed to land changed their destination “until new instructions are issued.”
At a time when the occupation army’s statement only mentioned the interception of a single missile before it entered Israeli airspace, Israeli Army Radio reported the interception of two missiles launched from Yemen, one of which was intercepted after it crossed Israeli airspace, and the second before it entered.
Footage spread on social media showed smoke rising in the Rehovot area, south of Tel Aviv, while it was not known whether this was the result of the Yemeni missile or the result of interceptor missiles. Other footage also showed shrapnel falling in the Beit Shemesh area of occupied Jerusalem. The Magen David Adom ambulance service stated that it had not received any reports of injuries or deaths so far.
These developments come after the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah Channel announced the launch of American-British strikes south of Hodeidah. The channel reported via Telegram that “the American-British aggression launched two raids on the Al-Tuhayta District, south of Hodeidah.” Last Thursday, Israel launched an air attack on Yemen, the fourth since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
