Exceptional efforts at the Mansoura station. Electrical technicians scrape off the remains of diesel fuel to keep the station running

Under exceptional circumstances, technicians at the “Wurzbla 2” power generation station in Mansoura are working to extract the remains of diesel fuel remaining in the walls of the station’s three tanks, in order to ensure the continued supply of electricity to the public network and prevent the station from stopping work.
Technicians at the station reported that they were scraping out the remaining diesel at the bottom of the large tank, as the fuel level had reached a point that could not be suctioned by normal methods because it was lower than the normal suction level. They stressed that this process requires strenuous efforts, but it is necessary to maintain the continuity of the station’s work.
One of the technicians pointed out that the Mansoura station includes three tanks, one of which is large and the other two are smaller, and that the technical teams are currently working to scrape out the stagnant diesel at the bottom of the tanks to use it to operate the generators. However, technicians confirmed that the remaining amount of fuel is sufficient to operate the station for only two days, and if it runs out, the station will stop completely.
The technicians added that the cessation of the Mansoura station will lead to the cessation of the Bir Ahmed solar power station as well, which will affect the public network with a loss of total generating capacity of up to 160 megawatts.
The leadership of the Aden Electricity Corporation appealed to the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to take urgent action to supply the Mansoura station with diesel fuel, stressing that any delay in supplies will lead to the station stopping and the resulting power outage.
