The village of Dharbin in Al-Shuaib District in Al-Dhalea Governorate witnessed, this afternoon, a historic event represented by the signing of a tribal reconciliation ending a murder case that had lasted for ten years.
The reconciliation was attended by the leadership of the local authority and the Transitional Council, represented by Brother Raouf Al-Jaafari, Director General of Al-Shuaib District, and Brigadier General Yahya Abad, Chairman of the Transitional Council in the District, in addition to a number of leaders, officials, sheikhs and notables.
The reconciliation came after strenuous efforts made by the reconciliation committee in the district, which included a number of sheikhs and leaders, and an agreement was reached between the two parties to the conflict. The children of the victim, the late Abdullah Muhammad Abu Bakr, gave up their father’s blood for the sake of God Almighty, without any compensation, while the children of the perpetrator, Abdullah Ali Qasim Al-Jabal, pledged not to demand any future rights.
The attendees gave speeches praising the generosity and concession of the children of the late Abdullah, expressing their joy at resolving the long-standing issue.
The ceremony witnessed a warm embrace between the two parties, amid an atmosphere of joy and welcome from the people of the village and neighboring villages.
