The European Union strongly condemns the Houthis' kidnapping of additional UN staff

The European Union condemned, on Saturday, the new campaign of kidnappings carried out by the Houthi group against employees of the United Nations and international organizations working in Yemen.
The European Union spokesman said in a statement, “The European Union strongly condemns the recent wave of arbitrary arrests carried out by the Houthis against United Nations employees working in Yemen.”
The European Union also expressed its full support for the statement issued by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres.
The European Union called for the immediate and unconditional release of all staff of the United Nations, non-governmental organizations and diplomatic missions detained by the Houthis, warning that these detentions jeopardize the provision of humanitarian and development assistance that the Yemeni people urgently need.
