Director of the World Food Program: The death of our colleague in Yemen, a tragic and surprising loss

Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Program, expressed her deep sorrow and anger at the death of one of the program's employees, Ahmed Baaloui, who lost his life during his arbitrary detention in Yemen.
McCain said in a press release: “I feel very sad and angry about the tragic loss of our colleague Ahmed Baaloui, who was working with us with dedication and sincerity to serve the needy in Yemen. >
She added: “Ahmed was an active member of our team, and he was working hard to ensure that food aid reached the most affected families in Yemen. He was a dedicated and loyal person to his work, and we will miss him a lot.”
McCain emphasized that the World Food Program will not hesitate to continue his humanitarian work in Yemen, despite this painful loss. She said: "We will continue to work with all our strength to provide assistance to the needy in Yemen, and we will strive hard to ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime be held accountable."
McCain called on all parties in Yemen to respect international humanitarian law, protect humanitarian workers, and ensure their safety and freedom of their movement. She said: "All parties must realize that the humanitarian workers are not a party to the conflict, and that they are only working to provide assistance to the needy civilians."
