Minister Al -Zaouri discusses the humanitarian crisis in Yemen with the resident deputy residing coordinator

Dr. Mohamed Saeed Al -Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, discussed this morning in the capital, Aden, with Dr. Iman Al -Shanqeeti, Deputy Coordinator of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, a number of issues related to humanitarian and development work.
During the meeting, Minister Al -Zaouri stressed the importance of moving from the relief and emergency stage to economic and societal recovery programs, and the implementation of sustainable economic and development projects that contribute to creating job opportunities for young people and reduce the suffocating living crisis faced by the Yemeni people.
Minister Al -Zaouri expressed the appreciation of the internationally recognized Yemeni government for the efforts of the United Nations and international organizations operating in Yemen, stressing the readiness of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to provide all the necessary facilities for the success of the missions of the United Nations in the humanitarian and development fields, in order to ensure the access of aid to those who deserve it in all Governorates.
Minister Al -Zaouri also reviewed the economic and living challenges facing the country, pointing to the economic war launched by the Houthi terrorist militias on the state’s resources, which caused the collapse of the local currency and the deterioration of basic services, which threatens food security .. noting that the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. A divorce of the responsibility that it has, yesterday, launched a distress call to the United Nations organizations, international organizations and donors to mobilize support and provide urgent humanitarian assistance to counter the exacerbation of the crisis in the southern governorates and liberated areas.
Minister Al -Zaouri affirmed the internationally recognized Yemeni government to implement the pledges it made during the World Refugee Forum for the year 2023, calling on the international community to support its efforts to achieve these obligations .. stressing the need to provide humanitarian aid to immigrants, refugees and internally displaced people, and work on their voluntary return to Diyahm, in cooperation with the Ministry and the relevant authorities in the government.
For its part, Dr. Iman Al -Shanqeeti reviewed the future tasks of the United Nations, confirming the organization's support for the Yemeni government's efforts to enhance economic recovery plans and alleviate the humanitarian crisis. She pointed out that the United Nations is keen to make all efforts and coordinate with partners to support development programs and projects, in addition to finding sustainable solutions to the issues of displacement in cooperation with the ministry and the competent authorities.
