The Saudi project to purify the Yemeni lands of mines, "Mass", on Monday, March 24, 2025, revealed a dangerous development and escalation in the methods of the internationally classified Houthi group in terrorism lists, in the mine industry "confirms the Houthis' insistence on targeting civilians with mines and explosive devices."

The project said in a statement published on social media that one of its teams discovered for the dignity of the internationally classified Houthi group in terrorism lists, and in the form of a "women's bag", in the eastern region of Taiz Governorate (southwest of Yemen).

The statement stated: "In a dangerous escalation, the militias' insistence on targeting civilians with mines and explosive devices, the Houthi militia developed their camps in camouflage.

He stated that the operations room in the project received a report on a strange body in the eastern region of Taiz Governorate, indicating that the team (33 pores) moved to the site, and a women's bag dedicated to cosmetics containing a newly developed minor mine and a newly developed pedal that attached to the interior of the bag, a battery and an electric shock. 

The statement quoted Brigadier Aref Al -Qahtani, the project supervisor in Taiz Governorate, as saying: “The team dismantled and secured the package,” noting that it represents a new shift in the Houthi targeting of Yemeni women. 

He said, "The package is a local industry that was developed in the laboratories of the Houthi group, which has never stopped working to create everything that would kill the largest number of civilians."

He pointed out that the package "operates with two pressure and clouds system," noting that the pedal that was found "works to facilitate the bombing process when opening, closing the cover cover, or pressure on it, which means the death of everyone who tries to discover the content of the bag." 

And according to the statement of pores, the team leader (33 pores) in Taiz Governorate called on all male and female citizens to be careful when finding any strange or unknown bodies in the streets and roads.

He said: “What has been discovered today is an indication of changing the usual camouflage strategy from these criminal militias that did not take into account any human or moral considerations or the sanctity of the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, which every Muslim is keen to exploit to closer to God, as it began to diversify the tools of killing and destruction targeting civilians.”
