Urgent demands for a popular move to stop the economic collapse in Aden and the south

In recent days, popular calls have escalated to a widespread mass move to stop the accelerated economic collapse and deteriorate the living situation in the capital, Aden and the rest of the southern governorates, in light of the deterioration of the local currency and unprecedented rise in prices.
Citizens and activists expressed their discontent with the continued economic deterioration, which was reflected directly on their purchasing power, stressing that the conditions are unbearable, especially with the lack of basic services and high food, fuel and medicine prices, in the absence of any real solutions from the concerned authorities.
A number of civil and trade union components called for the necessity of organizing peaceful protests to pressure the local authorities and the government to move urgent and stop the deterioration, considering that popular silence has aggravated the crisis and gives officials a cover to continue to ignore the daily suffering of citizens.
This comes at a time when economic experts warned of a complete collapse of the local economy if urgent reform measures are not taken, stressing the importance of activating resource control, holding corrupt people accountable and restructuring financial institutions to ensure the continuous deterioration.
