The Arab Parliament calls for the necessity of taking a firm position towards the Houthi group

The Arab Parliament called on the international community to take a firm position to dry up the sources of financing the Houthi militia and prevent its armament, and to address its continuous violations of human rights and its military actions at the national and regional levels.
This came in the statement issued by the fourth plenary session of the first session of the fourth legislative chapter, which was held on Monday, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, with the participation of members of the House of Representatives and the Arab Parliament, Alawi Al -Basha bin Zoubah, and Abdul Wahab Mawawad, according to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).
The Arab Parliament renewed its full support for the Presidential Command Council and the Yemeni government in restoring state institutions and preserving their armed forces, in a manner that guarantees the extension of its influence and sovereignty over its entire national soil and achieving security and stability on its lands, according to national, regional and international references, including Resolution 2216.
The statement emphasized its support for the peace efforts made by the envoy to Yemen and the regional and international efforts supporting peace and stability in the Republic of Yemen, in a manner that guarantees its security, stability, preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Parliament welcomed the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a pore project to purify the Yemeni lands of mines, calling for the prohibition of mine cultivation and the detection of Houthi militias about the locations of the minefields and continuous in their random cultivation in various parts of the country.
The statement condemned the Houthi militia targeting the international missions by continuing the detention of the UN employees and the missions and employees of the relief organizations, which reflects the Houthi hostile policy towards humanitarian work, calling for the release of the kidnappers and facilitating the task of relief organizations and everything that mitigates the suffering of citizens.
The statement warned of the consequences of the recent military escalation in Yemen, and called for restraint and focusing on diplomatic efforts to avoid the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis that Yemenis suffer from as a result of the continuation of the conflict that has continued for more than a decade.
The statement stressed the need to protect and secure the navigational corridors in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea and not to harm international navigation or the militarization of regional waters and turn them into a permanent focus of tension, stressing that the continuation of escalation in the international corridors is harmful to the Yemeni people and the economy of the risky countries and destabilizing Yemen and the entire region.
The statement also condemned the violations of the Houthi militia against journalists and media institutions, imposing a repressive environment through illegal trials and charges without clear evidence, presenting them before unique courts, and undermining media freedoms.
called for the protection of civilians, infrastructure and civilian notables from any targeting and taking all precautions to avoid the loss of civilian lives in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law.
