Trump announces sending additional reinforcements to support the military campaign against the Houthis

US President Donald Trump announced the sending of additional combat reinforcements to the Middle East region to support the military campaign against the Houthi group.
Trump said in a letter to the heads of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and published by the White House website, on Tuesday:
Trump added that the reinforcements that were sent include "the capabilities of air and missile defense to protect Israel, and sites hosting American forces in the region, in addition to combat aircraft, support and survey to enable them to launch strikes on the Houthi targets, and have already been published in countries in the Middle East."
Trump indicated that the US Central Command forces are carrying out widespread strikes on the Houthi -controlled areas to eliminate their capabilities to launch attacks against our forces and commercial ships in the Red Sea and the waters surrounding it.
Trump explained that these strikes, in which the naval ships and aircraft participated, as well as launchers, fighters and aircraft of the Air Force, "targeted the Houthi leaders and their equipment, driving and control facilities, and ammunition stores."
Trump emphasized the continuation of "decisive military operations against the Houthis so that their threat to American forces, the rights and freedoms of navigation in the Red Sea and neighboring waters decrease.
He said: “I will not allow anymore (..) to threaten our forces and commercial ships and attack them in one of the most important maritime navigation corridors in the world, and we will work hard to maintain the safety of the Americans.”
Since the middle of last month, the US military continues to target cities and locations in Yemen, which led to the fall of dozens of victims, including women and children, the destruction of residential buildings and the power outages in some areas, while the American President has vowed that Iran will bear the responsibility of every fire shot by the Houthis in Yemen.
The Houthi group has launched since November 2023, attacks by ballistic missiles, escalating aviation and marine boats against Israeli, American and British ships in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Arab Sea, and Israeli sites in the occupied Palestinian territories are targeting in response to the war of constant extermination in Gaza.
