An American official: We are not obligated, with the permission of Israel, to agree with the Houthis

While Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar confirmed that Washington has not previously reached his country in agreement with the Houthis in Yemen, the American ambassador to Israel, Mike Hackabi, said that his country's measures against the Houthi attacks depend on the extent of its harm to American citizens.
"The United States is not obligated to obtain permission from Israel to make arrangements that prevent the Houthis from shooting its ships. As the former Arkalsas governor explained that his information on this issue came after speaking with US President Donald Trump and his deputy JD Vans.
To that, he added, “There are 700,000 Americans who live in Israel. If the Houthis want to continue to do things for Israel and harm any American, this will become our affairs.
As for when he was asked to clarify whether he intended that his country would intervene only to fight the "Iranian -backed Yemeni group if an American citizen is wounded by a Houthi missile," he replied that the issue is related to what is a direct American affair, as he put it.
The Israeli Foreign Minister indicated yesterday, Thursday, that Tel Aviv did not "receive any prior notice of America's stop bombing the Houthis" in Yemen.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katie stressed that Israel is "able to defend itself", referring to the sudden United States agreement with the Houthi group through the Sultanate of Oman.
These statements came after a sudden decision for Trump to stop the military operation on the Houthis. "The Houthis agreed to stop their attacks against commercial ships in the Red Sea," he said, adding that they "surrendered."
